A growing YouTube channel. An indie animation studio launching a series trailer. A new TTRPG company trying to see whether its Kickstarter will pay off.

Everyone involved in these endeavors has one thing in common: they can use Chronicle Media‘s predictive audience model Ubiquity.

Chronicle, co-founded by Aaron Sisto, Scott Greenberg, and Ollie Lewis, describes itself as an AI-based, agentic “engine” that powers social media growth for creators, media studios, brands, and more by identifying specific audience segments for their content.

Chronicle says its system (built and trained by researchers from Stanford, Columbia, and Carnegie Mellon, with experts formerly @ Google, Amazon, and Spotify) can predict things like overall audience size, viewers’ geographical spread, and niche fandom preferences, and then use all that information to tell creators and companies whether their ideas are worth doing.

Ubiquity is Chronicle’s way of giving everyone access to this predictive modeling. Over the last six months, Ubiquity–whose UX Sisto likens to a “co-pilot” or assistant–was beta-tested with more than 50 marquee clients.

These clients include a Fortune 10 celebrity podcast that saw 150% audience growth in two months, a foreign-language drama that grew its daily U.S. revenue by 600% in two weeks, and a newly launched video game that reached 1.5 million views and a 1.44x return on ad spend with an audience Ubiquity mapped before launch, the company says.

Sisto tells Tubefilter that Chronicle’s secret sauce is not using a synthetic audience.

“Anyone can prompt Claude, tell it to act like a specific audience or a potential customer, and then have it look at your concepts or trailers and give strategic advice,” he explains. “That’s not what we’re doing.”

Instead, he says, Chronicle is using “real audience data that we collect through our own proprietary, large-scale A/B testing across audience segments we’ve identified.”

That real data comes from more than a million audience segments (and their content watch-through behaviors) across major platforms like YouTube, he says.

“We’re collecting granular, cohort-based data–which means we don’t need to know the individual person or IP address or which handles they use,” he adds, for anyone concerned about their privacy. “We’re looking more at broader trends, like if there’s a cohort of 10 million people out there who really like RPGs, but a third of them also play tabletop board games, those are insights we can use to go and quantify demand for a product.”

Ubiquity uses this information to build what Chronicle calls “simulations” of potential audiences.

“Those simulations become a direct connection you can use to evaluate if you should be launching in a specific direction, if anyone actually does want your show or product, and then ultimately how to go out and reach and acquire them,” Sisto says. “All that data is readily available through our platform.”

Chronicle claims Ubiquity’s audience predictions “have proven to be 94-98% accurate when tuned to a specific franchise.”

“Ubiquity is the foundation of Chronicle’s larger vision to construct the attention layer for the social economy, enabling creators and brands to navigate and find audiences in that rapidly expanding ecosystem,” it says.
